Accreditation, Quality & Environmental Policy

Certifications & Standards

PSL run a quality management system meeting ISO 9001 standards, full certification achieved in 2012 and has been maintained.

Alongside this management system, and to augment a number of green initiatives already in place at PSL, we have installed an environmental management system.

PSL has already gone some way to reducing our impact on the environment, both locally and globally with our FSC® membership, the introduction of energy efficient lighting throughout our facility and the use of a bailing machine to ensure all waste packaging, both plastics and paper, is efficiently recycled through our waste collection company.

To accelerate the process of environmental accreditation, PSL has recently undergone a comprehensive audit to establish the extent of our carbon footprint. Our auditors, Mentor, an RBS subsidiary, presented a report, which suggested that PSL's environmental impact is relatively slight, however packing and distribution, along with the use of plastic and polymer based substrates, in the production of certain products, have provided areas for further investigation.

PSL's approved supplier list stipulates that all potential print units should have, as a minimum, the following accreditations:

  • ISO 9001 Quality
  • ISO 14001 Environment
  • ISO 18001 Health & Safety

Other beneficial certifications, depending on product provision are:

  • ISO 27001 Data Security
  • ISO 12647-2 Colour Management

 

Quality Policy

We procure products, which are fit for their intended purpose and which, therefore, meet and enhance customer expectations:

  • Establishing a clear understanding of our customers’ expectations of PSL Print Management Ltd as a supplier.
  • Ensuring we have the resources to meet customers’ expectations as a condition of accepting orders.
  • Ensuring that, at every stage in procurement, formal checking procedures are carried out and any necessary corrective actions taken.
  • Ensuring that everyone within PSL Print Management Ltd has a clear understanding of quality and that the preventions of poor quality are more profitable than its detection and corrections.
  • Ensuring everyone within PSL Print Management Ltd. understands that they have a very important part to play in the achievement of quality and that the senior management team provides the training and resources necessary to meet this objective.
  • Ensuring ISO 9001:2015 quality assurance procedures are used as a benchmark.

Suitability of the system and stated objectives will be reviewed to ensure that we comply with the requirements of the standard and continually improve the effectiveness of the quality management system and this shall be monitored by our monthly QA team reviews.
